Camp Create: Summer Art Camps!
If you love the arts, the AGG is the place to be this summer! Budding artists will get creative at the AGG’s week-long art camps, exploring a variety of materials and techniques to create masterpieces that will be shown off at weekly mini art openings. The AGG’s summer art camp provides children ages 7 to 12 with the opportunity to experience creativity and innovation in a unique and transformative setting that combines a world class art collection and rich natural surroundings. Each week is unique – select one or more!
Camp Create: Summer 2019 is a series of five week-long summer camp programs that run daily from 9 am to 4 pm at the AGG.

Week 1 (July 2 – 5) Master Class – FULL
Paint like the masters! Inspired by artists from Norval Morrisseau and Tom Thomson to Warhol and Picasso, experiment with a variety of techniques and materials while creating murals, portraits, landscapes, and still life scenes. (4 days/$200)
Week 2 (July 8 – 12) Roller Coasting – FULL
Learn how to make art that moves and move while making art. Make a paper roller coaster, experiment with pendulum painting, stop motion video, and learn tips and tricks to animate art with everyday materials.
Week 3 (July 15 – 19) Imaginarium – FULL
Expand your imagination with a focus on science and the natural world. Build a mason jar terrarium and explore the wonderful world of rocks, geodes, and crystals! Try your hand at painting techniques inspired by rock patterns, grow a crystal, and make dinosaur fossils.
Week 4 (July 22 – 26) Creation Nation – FULL
A camp for kids who love creating, crafting, and learning. Transform fabric and paper into works of art! Use hand knitting, weaving, papier-mâché, and block printing techniques to create one-of-a-kind artworks. Bring a T-shirt to tie-dye!
Week 5 (July 29 – August 2) Walk on the Wild Side – FULL
Go WILD creating cool crafts inspired by the animal kingdom. Make masks, portraits, puppets, and more – all inspired by your favourite creatures. A great opportunity for kids to experience hands-on learning centered on wildlife, nature, and conservation.
We welcome children with little or no art making experience. Children slightly above the age range are welcome to join with the understanding that lessons are geared towards the posted ages, but we ask that parents respect the minimum age limit.
The fee per week is $250 and includes all art supplies. Camp Create is pleased to offer extended drop off and pick up hours. Morning drop off is from 8:30 – 9:00 am and afternoon pick up is from 4:00 – 4:30 pm.
Camp Create is a peanut-free environment. If additional known allergies are identified to our Staff, further notification will be provided.
We strive for Camp Create to be accessible to all. We are available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about making Camp Create work for you. It is important to note that although we have small class sizes, we cannot provide one-on-one care to campers with extraordinary needs.
