Peripatetic Novels and Women’s Education. Cultural Intersections in 18th-Century Italy
Sandra Parmegiani is Associate Professor of European Studies and Italian at the University of Guelph and President of the Canadian Society for Italian Studies. Her research in recent years has focused on Eighteenth-and early Nineteenth- Century English-Italian literary relations and on the narrative of Claudio Magris. Her book Ugo Foscolo and English Culture (Oxford, Legenda 2011) is a study of Foscolo’s Epistolario in which she investigates the writer’s ties to the literature and philosophy of England. She has published several essays on Magris and has edited special issues of “Quaderni d’italianistica” and of the “Journal of European Studies” devoted to his work.
