If your child loves art, the Art Gallery of Guelph (AGG) is the place to be this summer! Your budding artist will get creative at the AGG, exploring a variety of materials and techniques to create masterpieces that will be shown off at weekly mini art openings. Camp Create provides children ages 7 to 12 with the opportunity to experience creativity and innovation in a unique and transformative setting that combines a world class art collection and rich natural surroundings. Each week is unique – select one or more!
Week 1 (July 6 – 10) At Play
Kick off a summer of imagination by creating amazing art that you can play with – from trading cards and games, to costumes, puppets and more.
Week 2 (July 13 – 17) Fresh Paint!
Inspired by artists from Claude Monet and Emily Carr to Maud Lewis and Christi Belcourt, experiment with a variety of techniques and materials to create murals, portraits, landscapes, and still life scenes.
Week 3 (July 20 – 24) Walk on the Wild Side
Experience hands-on learning centered on wildlife, nature, and archaeology. Try your hand at painting techniques inspired by rocks and geodes, make masks, dioramas, and a collection of amber fossils.
Week 4 (July 27 – 31) Creation Nation | REGISTRATION IS FULL, WAITING LIST ONLY
Craft and create! Transform fabric and paper into works of art. Use hand knitting, weaving, papier-mâché, and block printing techniques to create one-of-a-kind artworks.
Week 5 (August 4 – 7) Magic and Mayhem ($200/4 days) | REGISTRATION IS FULL, WAITING LIST ONLY
Wands, wings, and fairy things – build it all! Inspired by fantastic fairytales and folklore, design an elf house, craft a wand, and create new characters and creatures in handmade books and games.
Week 6 (August 10 – 14) Arty Animation
Bring a character to life in just one week! Illustrate books and comics, make a stop-motion video, and learn simple animation techniques using flip books and thaumatropes.

General Information about Camp Create
We welcome children with little or no art making experience to Camp Create. Children slightly above the age range are welcome to join with the understanding that lessons are geared towards the posted ages, but we ask that parents respect the minimum age limit.
The registration fee includes all art supplies and extended drop-off and pick-up time. Morning drop-off is from 8:30 – 9 am and afternoon pick-up is from 4 – 4:30 pm.
Camp Create is a peanut-free environment. If additional life-threatening allergies are identified to AGG staff, further notification will be provided to parents and guardians prior to the start of camp.
We strive for Camp Create to be accessible to all. AGG staff are available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about making Camp Create work for you. It is important to note that although we have small class sizes, we cannot provide one-on-one care to campers with extraordinary needs.
