Join us for free, family-friendly activities inspired by the exhibition 150 Acts: Art, Activism, Impact which features the work of Indigenous artists from AGG’s collection as well as new artistic practices.
Story is an integral part of Indigenous culture, rooted in language, communication, and tradition. Full of visual and oral storytelling, this afternoon will offer families and children of all ages an opportunity to explore First Nations culture and tradition with Jan Sherman, Community Helper.
Storytelling | 1-1:30 pm and 2:30-3 pm
Enjoy interactive storytelling with Jan Sherman, storyteller, drummer, singer and First Nations culture keeper. Each storytelling session is limited to twenty participants on a first come, first served basis.
Moon Painting | 1 to 3 pm
Learn about the Indigenous lunar calendar – discover which moon you were born under and create a one-of-a-kind moon painting that captures its meaning.
Power Tours | 1 pm, 1:30 pm, 2 pm, and 2:30 pm start times
Guided tours of current exhibitions including 150 Acts: Art, Activism, Impact, My curiosities are not your curios, and Light in the Land: The Nature of Canada.
The Art Gallery of Guelph is open from 12 to 5 pm throughout the Culture Days weekend.
