Celebrating 40 Years of Art + Ideas
Exhibition: March 1 – 24, 2018
Art Party & Live Auction / Saturday, March 24, 2018
On Saturday, March 24, 2018 the Art Gallery of Guelph threw the art party of the year, welcoming over 150 art lovers and collectors. The gallery’s signature fundraising event, ART/CRAFT XL raises essential funds each year for the Art Gallery of Guelph’s artistic programming and educational opportunities through art sales, ticket sales, donations, and in-kind contributions from individuals and businesses across the region.
Guests enjoyed champagne, wine and exquisite local fare prepared by the chefs and sommeliers of the University of Guelph as well as craft beer by Four Fathers Brewing. The evening culminated in an exciting live auction of contemporary artwork hosted by acclaimed auctioneer Stephen Ranger of Waddington’s, raising over $48,000 in art sales alone.
As Guelph’s leading arts institution, the Art Gallery of Guelph facilitates opportunities for dialogue and exchange that effect positive social change through artistic practices that are engaged, inspiring, and bold. Thank you for being part of this evening, one that is not only about strengthening art and culture, but our community itself. Our great thanks also to the many business sponsors who donated funds, services, and products that made ART/CRAFT XL such a memorable event.
