Learn more about how ethics, sustainability, and functionality come together within Hamro Village, whose handcrafted products have been featured in the Gallery Shop since 2016. Join co-founder and CEO, Asutosh Upadhyay, as they speak about the history and work of the Fergus-based company. Highlighting collaboration and social responsibility, Hamro works with marginalized artisans globally to share handmade items that range from wearables and accessories, home décor to toys – even beds and dwellings for pets and birds. With the goal to support craft communities while preserving cultures and traditional skills, their work offers a model of how both production and consumption can be informed by social justice.

This talk will focus on how Hamro engages in fair trade practices and what that means for art and craft production. Presented by the AGG Volunteer Association, admission is free and all are welcome.
