Student Gallery Assistants in Art Collections and Information Desk

We are looking for Student Gallery Assistants in Art Collections and Information Desk. Successful candidates for the Art Collections position will, both, assist with exhibition installations with emphasis on art handling as well as work with the collection; including art storage and data entry. Information Desk positions act as the public’s first point of contact and ambassadors for the gallery’s artistic and cultural activities and will be knowledgeable about the Gallery’s objectives, programs, collections, and the benefits of membership while maintaining information desk operations.

Students must be eligible for Work Study. Applications can be submitted through Experience Guelph.

Curatorial Collections Assistant

The AGG is seeking a dynamic, competent, detail-oriented candidate who will undertake research and community engagement to support the gallery's exhibition planning and work efficiently both independently and within teams. Knowledge of diverse cultural practices and post-secondary training in visual arts is an asset, as well as strong critical thinking, and superior written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and deadline-driven environment. Confidence and ability to speak to individual members of the public (all ages) as well as in front of small and large groups of people is an asset.
Educational Program Assistants
2023/06/05 – 2023/08/25
The Art Gallery of Guelph seeks three outgoing, competent, detail-oriented candidates who will support the gallery's educational planning and programs. The following tasks are central to the position: research into AGG art collections for relevant themes as well as sector trends in educational engagement, public engagement, program and event development based on AGG strategic priorities, preparatory work related to programs and events, program delivery and event management, as well as reporting and documentation of educational programs.
