Join us for a conversation about Guelph and the unique opportunities and challenges it offers its creative community. This panel brings together representatives from local arts organizations—including Art Not Shame, Ed Video, Necessary Arts, Otherwise Studios, Wyndham Art Supplies, and more—to discuss how they have built their missions around artist support, contributing to the vitality of Guelph’s creative landscape while advancing and strengthening the city’s cultural ecosystem. Hosted in the space of the Art Gallery of Guelph’s current exhibition 155,578 and moderated by Erin Szikora, Curator of Contemporary Art, the panel will create opportunities for connection, resource sharing, and cross-promotion.

Ed Video Media Arts Centre

A cornerstone of Guelph’s arts community for nearly five decades, Ed Video is a charitable, artist-run centre that supports diverse communities in all aspects of media arts. Through affordable access to equipment, training, exhibitions, and skill-building programs, we empower individuals to tell their stories, explore creativity, and connect meaningfully with others.

Necessary Arts Collective

Led by Chanel DesRoches, Necessary Arts Collective is a dynamic arts hub in downtown Guelph. The space is home to 12–15 local artists and offers a range of access options, including semi-private studios, co-working memberships, and hourly rentals—creating a flexible, all-in-one environment for artistic practice and collaboration.

Otherwise Studios

Led by Ahmri Vandeborne, Otherwise Studios fosters a creative and inclusive community space for art-making and learning. With programming for all ages, Otherwise encourages collaboration, experimentation, and skill-sharing in a brave space where mistakes are welcomed as part of the creative process.

Wyndham Art Supplies

A family-owned business since 1992, Wyndham Art Supplies offers high-quality materials to artists, designers, students, and craftspeople from coast to coast.
