Crit Night with Necessary Arts & Otherwise Studios, facilitated by Paige Bromby
The Art Gallery of Guelph is partnering with Necessary Arts and Otherwise Studios to guest host their June Crit Night. Facilitated by local artist Paige Bromby, these monthly group critiques provide valuable feedback on your artwork, a friendly safe environment to share ideas, and an opportunity to connect with local artists in your community!
Never participated in a critique before? No problem! Paige, Chanel DesRoches, and Ahmri Vandeborne will be there every step of the way to ensure the process is fun, kind, and inspiring. Artists of any medium may either sign up to present an in-progress artwork for feedback or join to chat about the work presented. Please indicate on your registration whether you’ll be bringing art or just coming to participate in discussion. This is a seated program. All are welcome and light refreshments will be provided.

Meet the facilitator
Paige Bromby
Paige Bromby is a Guelph-based artist and community animator. Working primarily in painting and drawing, Bromby explores landscape painting in the age of digital media, creating work that foregrounds the recording, translation, and filtering of the landscape through both artist and technology. Working from her own photographs, Bromby breaks down her images through digital manipulations and layered compositions to create landscape paintings that are a tangle of organic shapes and perspectives.
About Necessary Arts Collective
Led by Chanel DesRoches, Necessary Arts Collective is an all-in-one type of space. The studio is known to be an arts hub located in Downtown Guelph; home to 12 – 15 local artists. Some offerings include individual semi-private studio spaces for rent, co-working memberships, hourly rates, etc.
About Otherwise Studios
Led by Ahmri Vandeborne, Otherwise hosts creative minds of all ages for art-making and community building. With a focus on fostering a creative and inclusive community hub, Otherwise offers diverse opportunities for collaborating, gathering, teaching, skill-building, innovating, and mess-making. We aim to make a brave space that allows people to feel comfortable making mistakes and encouraged to learn new skills.
