Family Day: Banner Building Workshop
Calling all families with young artists and the young at heart – spend Family Day afternoon exploring printmaking and collaborating on a community project!
Join us at the gallery Monday, February 20, between 1 pm and 4 pm, for a free guided printmaking workshop and community-engaged project. As a drop-in event, participants – children and caregivers – will learn how to design, carve and hand-print a single colour print using a variety of tools and techniques. All printmakers will create and take home their own printmaking block that can be used over and over again and create two printed banners – one of these will become part of a community banner quilt that will be assembled and displayed at the Art Gallery of Guelph. Come and collaborate with your friends, family and neighbors in the Guelph community!
This program is designed for kids aged 4-14 with their caregiver(s), though all ages are welcome. Please note: children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided. No experience is required. Come dressed for a mess!
