Join us on Thursday, July 20, for an introduction to the exhibition Out of the blue with artist Samuelle Grande. In conversation with artist and educator Monica Tap, this walk and talk will focus on Grande’s approach to visual storytelling, exploring the development of her distinct symbolic lexicon that synthesizes and transposes memory, experience, and collected materials to investigate human relationships. Come for the conversation, bring your questions, and stay to celebrate with light refreshments!

Out of the blue represents the culmination of two years of focused work in the University of Guelph’s Master of Fine Arts program for Grande, who was recently awarded a 2023 Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant for painting. The Art Gallery of Guelph’s annual exhibition of a graduating MFA student is presented in conjunction with the School of Fine Art and Music at the University of Guelph.
